Happy 7th Birthday Gracie!

I can't believe my sweet baby girl is 7 years old now!!! Gracie received a new laptop for her birthday this year, so we decided to have a "family day" instead of a big party. We began our day at Chuck E. Cheese (or Chuckle Cheese as Emily calls it!) Afterwards we headed to the mall so Gracie could spend her gift card she received from Nana and Papa. We ended the day at the movies watching Toy Story 3. We all LOVED the movie!!! It was such a fun day, and Gracie said it was the best birthday ever. YAY!!!

Grandma and Grandpa came Saturday afternoon to pick the girls up for a little birthday shopping and dinner for Gracie's birthday. Gracie got a new bike with a kickstand AND a basket. AWESOME! She also got an i-Carly video camera. And, of course, Emily got a little something too!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all you do!!!!
On Sunday Gracie and I sat down at the computer so she could spend her Toys R Us gift card from Uncle Kevin, Aunt Laura, Beth and Jacob. I offered to take her to the store, but she REALLY wanted to shop online. Don't know who she learned that from?? HA! She ended up getting free shipping. W00-Hoo!!! She picked out a new Nintendo DS game, a wig, a craft kit and two packages of glitter pens!!!! Thanks guys!!!! You made her day! :-)

Grimes County Fair

This morning we loaded up and headed to the Grimes County Fair. We had some VERY sweet friends (Jennifer and Brandi) who asked Gracie and Emily if they wanted to help show their animals. Of course the girls wanted to. These girls LOVE animals. They were supposed to show pigs, lambs and goats. But, due to the HORRIBLE weather, they only showed pigs. They didn't seem to mind--though Emily REALLY wanted to show a lamb!!! (The pics aren't great. I used my "purse" camera.)

The girls were all decked out in their cowgirl gear. Emily was so excited to wear her "cow" boots.

Emily with her piggy trophy. She was so proud.

This pic is SOOO blurry, but it's the only decent one I got when Emily was showing. That girl was ALL OVER the arena!!! Poor piggy---Emily was not shy with the "whoopin' stick!!!!!"

Gracie did very well. Very CALM with the pig. She laughed because the pig got pee on her. HA!!! Brandi is in the black shirt. She was SOOO sweet to help the girls like she did.

We had SO much fun watching them!!

Watch Oprah lately???

I rarely watch Oprah, but I watched it yesterday. It was about a lady, Charla, who got attacked by a chimpanzee. The chimp belonged to her friend. Charla was BRUTALLY attacked...she no longer has a face and only one thumb remains. SO sad. I will never complain about myself. I will be thankful for my eyesight (even though I have to wear contacts), the little freckle on the end of my nose (that drives me NUTS), and my mouth that works so I can eat food (not suck everything through a straw). What an amazing spirit Charla has.

Here's a link to the story.

How blessed are we!

I've been going through Thanksgiving/Christmas pics tonight. This is a picture from our Thanksgiving at Aunt Marzie's house. These kiddos just melt my heart. I love how innocent Emily and Jacob look in the picture. HA!!!!

My sweet little dumplins. :-)

Christmas Extravaganza.....first grade style!

This year Mr. Murray held a Christmas Extravaganza at school---so we could dress in our wildest Christmas attire. Well...our first grade team decided we would make shirts for each other!!! We each drew a name and had to decorate a shirt for that person. It was a little stressful at first, but once we all got started it really turned out to be a LOT of fun. My mom helped me with Cindy's. Thank you so much!!!! Cindy LOVES Beyonce, so I did her shirt with a Beyonce gingerbread girl.....and a very sad gingerbread boy. Lesson learned for him---he "should've put a ring on it!!!!" Everyone's shirts turned out GREAT. What a creative and fun group of girls I work with. I just adore each and every one of them.
Last year we had an Easter Bonnet day. If we have one this year, I think we should decorate each other's bonnets!!!!!

Looking Back....Happy Birthday Emily!

First of all, thanks to Leslie over at Lambert's Lately my blog has a new look. I LOVE it! If you want a new blog design go see Leslie. She is GREAT to work with, and she's a first grade teacher!!!

Now....I am WAY behind on blogging, so I am going to attempt to get caught up (at least with the "major" things that have occurred.) Well, Miss Emily turned 3 years old on August 29th. For her birthday we went to The Rainforest Cafe in Katy. Emily LOVES this restaurant. Mom, Dad, Aunt Bill and Uncle Bryan met us there. We had so much fun celebrating with Emily. Afterwards Bill and Bryan invited us over to their house for presents and cake. Thanks so much!

The Birthday Girl!!
