She finally lost it...

Gracie finally lost her tooth that has been loose since April. YAY!!! She was so excited. She even pulled the tooth all by herself!!!!! The Tooth Fairy did come visit our house Friday night. So exciting!!! She left Gracie some money, and she even took the note/pictures that Gracie made for her. (One note even had the word "tooth" on it with an arrow pointing towards where the tooth was. I'm sure the Tooth Fairy will keep all those treasures forever!!!)

This whole losing a tooth thing is really bothering Emily though. She just keeps looking at Gracie's mouth saying, "oh, dear!!!" She keeps asking Gracie what happened to her tooth, and Gracie keeps explaining it over and over again!!!!

Memory Boards

I finished my first craft for the summer today. I made memory boards for the girls and one for myself to have at school. I don't have a pic of Emily's because she was sleeping. I covered her board with a purple/white gingham fabric and I put a strand of ribbon at the top and bottom. (No feathers for Emily----Believe me, she would figure out a way to get them off that board!!!) Now I have to find some cute stuff to put on their boards..... Gracie's memory board--ignore the pillow falling off her top bunk. She and Emily spent some time up there playing today.

Here's my board for school. We're having the same "wild" theme next year. Not sure if I'll hang this in my room, on the door or in the hall. I have a name plate that matches to hang outside my door. I also haven't decided if I'm going to hang it by ribbon or put a hanger on the back. Oh, the decisions to be made. HA!

Going to Sonic......

Kris and the girls headed to pick up lunch at Sonic today. Gracie asked if she could wear anything she wanted, and I said, "sure." So, she and Emily went to their rooms to dress themselves. This is what they came out wearing. H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!!! Yep---they will probably be dressed like this all day, or at least until they go to Grandma's house later this evening. (Kris and I are going to a birthday party tonight for a sweet friend of mine. Woo-hoo!!!)

Guess where I went today???

First, to a b-o-r-i-n-g workshop in Brenham. Learning about all the revisions made to the Language Arts TEKS. Fun stuff!!!

Then, we stopped by Blue Bell to get a cup of ice cream. YUM!!! What a great way to end such a boring day.

On our way to first grade....

First Day of Kindergarten

Last Day of Kindergarten

Gracie graduated from Kindergarten last week--woo--hoo!!!! She had a GREAT year with an AWESOME teacher. We are so proud of Gracie and all of her accomplishments this year. She was happy that she gets a break, but very sad that Mrs. Cox won't be her teacher next year.

I can't wait for her to be in first grade!! We're going to have so much fun together, and NO I am not going to be her teacher next year!!! I have had several people ask me that. Seriously???

We're going to continue learning/working on things this summer. Gracie LOVES math--not sure where she got that from. She is learning to add/subtract double digit numbers right now, and she LOVES it. Really?? You wouldn't believe how much each day she spends doing math related work. And she even thinks it's so fun to write all her numbers to 100. Now she is working on writing to 200. DORK!! Just kidding---- I was not that motivated in math, at ALL. We're continuing to work on reading and writing. Reading is going very well--she is more than ready for first grade. Writing---we're getting there. She has great ideas and is beginning to express them a LOT better. I've just got to keep her motivated. Handwriting---she has her daddy's, HA!!!! It's not bad---it's just not as "pretty" as I would like it.

Mom and I spent the afternoon yesterday planning little field trips for the girls this summer. We're so excited!!! We pretty much have something planned for each week. Mom and I are also working on planning a girls trip for ourselves at the end of June--fun, fun.

Kris and his addiction....

Kris has been playing this online computer game, World of Warcraft, since November. He is addicted, and I SO enjoy making fun of him!!! He reached level 80 last week--the highest level you can reach. Tonight he and several other players got online at 5:30 so they could go on a group "instance." Don't ask--I have no idea other than they are fighting big creatures. Fun hu? (I have been making SOOOOOO much fun of him tonight!) These guys talk to each other over the computer. HUH---larious!!!!!! Anyway, tonight Emily came up to me and said, "Mommy, daddy is talking to his "pooter." Then she said, "Oh, brother." Too funny!!!! I totally agree with her.

( Here is Kris playing tonight. Feel free to make fun of him anytime you see him!!!)
On another note, my new dining table FINALLY came in this past week. Yay!!! We're almost done with the dining/sitting area of the house. All that's left is the trim around the floors and a few decorative things.
Emily says, "Good night!"

Recital 2009

Gracie had her recital tonight, and she did an AWESOME job. Kris and I were so proud of her. This year we dropped ballet/tap and Gracie began doing cheerleading and taking a hip/hop class. We weren't sure how this would work out, being that she's only five, but she has soared this year. Gracie is a very hard worker---never gives up on anything. We had SO much fun tonight watching her perform. We had seen the cheer routine in San Antonio, but we had no idea what to expect with the hip-hop dance. Well let me tell you--sista can bust some moves!!! It was GREAT---Kris was very shocked. Our shy, sweet girl was gettin' down on that stage. HA!!! I think Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Bill and Papa Bryan were as shocked/impressed as we were.

Gracie gets to take a short break before she hits the grind again. Cheer try-outs are on the 6th. Then they will begin practicing in July so that they are prepared for competitions in the fall.

Little Miss Emily begins taking dance in August. Now that will be HILARIOUS!!!!

Gracie in her hip/hop gear, or as Kris and I call it--her "gangsta wear."

Strikin a pose!

My sweetie!!!!!!!!!

Mother's Day-Part Two

Before I get started on how we spent Mother's Day, I have to say that this pretty lady was missed dearly today. We know she had a glorious Mother's Day in Heaven today with her mother. I can only imagine how wonderful that was for Maw.

Today Grandma and Grandpa came over for an afternoon snack of strawberry cheesecake and coke floats. The girls enjoyed giving Grandma all her "surprises" and swimming with Grandpa!!
Eating our snacks with grandma!!
Grandma opening her gifts. We LOVE her so much. She is an amazing mother/wife/grandma!!!

Swimming with Grandpa.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for spending the afternoon with us. We love you dearly!

Mother's Day--Part One

Gracie gave me an early Mother's Day gift. She got some flowers for she and I to plant together. How sweet is that? We spent the afternoon planting them, watering them and praying that they don't die. HA!! They are planted in a planters box right outside our front door. Now the mail lady will have something pretty to look at when she delivers our mail!!

Swine Break

Well, due to the 'swine flu' our district got a nice little end-of-the-year break. I don't want anyone to be sick, BUT this break was AWESOME. Gave us a little glimpse on how we will spend our summer days!! We've had 10 days off from school!!! We head back Monday, and we only have 15 days left. WOO-HOO!!!! The weather has been beautiful this week. Here's a peek of some of the things we did:

Ate LOTS of watermelon!!!!Went to play with grandma so mommy could go to lunch with her friends.

Went swimming and, of course, had popsicles each time!
Slept late!!!!!

We can't wait for summer to be here!!!

Mother of the Year

So, after today I think I'm pretty close to earning that award. HA!!! Gracie went to the nurse at school because her "tummy hurt." I thought she was probably faking. She knows if she gets sick at school and has to go home--she goes to Grandma's house. Anyway, I had her stay in my room with me, and then after a while of pure boredom (I wouldn't let her do anything), she decided she felt better and went back to her class. Well, at the end of the day she told me her ear was hurting, and I just thought she was making it up. I was wrong. (This is where I'm really earning that MOY award.) We got home. She went to sleep. I ran to Wal-Mart, and while I was there Kris called. He said Gracie had woken up, and was crying/screaming telling him how bad her ear hurt. I came home. Gracie went to the Urgent Care Center in College Station. Come to find out, she has a SEVERE ear infection, bulging eardrum and all. Nice hu?? The doc gave her an antibiotic and numbing drops, and told us not to stop giving her Tylenol for a couple of days. Poor baby. She just got over being sick!!! So, I feel like a terrible mother. Her tummy was probably hurting because her equilbrium is way off--AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

We just put her to bed- 10:00 on a school night. Not good. Tomorrow is her Easter Party at school. She wants to go SO bad, so she is going to school in the morning and Grandpa is picking her up at 11:00, after her hunt. I hope she feels much better in the morning and can enjoy her hunt.

Guess who has a loose tooth???

This little cutie pie!!!!

We are SO excited!!!! The tooth that is loose is one of her "two front teeth." She's going to look so stinkin' cute. We're hoping she loses it before cheer competition at Sea World in April!!!! HA!!!

And, doesn't she look so cute in all her cowgirl gear???? It was western day at school on Friday. Kindergarten did some very fun rodeo activities. Gracie really enjoyed it, but was wiped out at the end of the day!!! Being a cowgirl is tough work.

Gracie and her lunch...

One day last week mom made Gracie's lunch for her. Gracie said it was the best lunch ever! Mom pretty much packed the same kind of things that I normally do, but Gracie ate
"Grandma's lunch" MUCH better!! So, Gracie and mom decided that Grandma will be making the lunches for a while. Hilarious!!!! And let me tell you--Gracie is SO excited. She says that she and Grandma will discuss what to put in the lunch each night on their nightly phone calls to each other. So precious!

So sweet..

Emily insisted on wearing her pink hat in this pic. :-)
I just love dressing the girls in matching outfits!! We had to head to a birthday party Saturday morning, so I put the girls in their new outfits. (I've ordered them several matching outfits, and I just can't wait to get them. I am SO ready for spring!) I thought they looked so cute!! Though I should have watched some weather--it was chilly!!!! They spent most of the day indoors so it wasn't that big of a deal. After the party we headed to lunch and then to do some shopping. Friday is "western day" at school, so we had to get Gracie some cowgirl gear. Yee-haw!!!! And, of course, we couldn't get Gracie some boots without getting Emily a pair!! (Pics to come soon.) These two sweet girls are just growing up way too fast for us!!!!!!
FYI-Fajita Jacks in Montgomery is no bueno--don't waste your money!!!!

An early birthday present.....

Kris' birthday isn't until Tuesday, but I had to give him this early birthday present--a snuggie. (You know-the blanket with sleeves that they sell on tv.) He's made several comments about these so I HAD to get him one. Doesn't he look all happy and cozy?? And, guess what? When you buy one, you get another one FREE. You also get two FREE book lights. Just amazing isn't it??? HA

So, we both have our "snuggies" to keep us nice and warm. Ah, the little things in life!

100th Day!!!

Happy 100th Day!!! School was so HILARIOUS today. Everyone looked CRAZY!!!!! Mr. Murray had a contest, and I won 100 dimes. WOO-HOO!!!!! My costume got lots of laughs. I was an old, obese granny who lost her dog. Come to find out--my dog was on my booty!!!! Who knew???? HA!!

The 100th Day of School is tomorrow!!

And my outfit is rockin'!!!!! So much better than last year, in my opinion!!! I'm not the nice, cute grandma I was last year. I'm the confused, unattractive granny this year. HA!

I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing tomorrow. If it's anything like last year, it will be the most hilarious day of the year!!!!! I will definitely be posting some pics!!!

Off to go get my "accessories" ready. Enjoy your Monday night. The bachelor is on tonight--woo-hoo!!!

Here you go, Laura....

So, Laura did this Honest Blog thingy and linked me. I, am not blog savvy at ALL. So, I'll list 10 things, but I won't even attempt to do the cute pic or links---major damage may occur.

Anyway--here is some honest info. about me:

1. My mom had to tell me that Santa was not "real" in the sixth grade. Thank God she told me b/c Kris would sure be a busy, stressful man on Christmas Eve.

2. I will NOT use public restrooms unless it's an emergency. Nasty, Yuck, Gross!!!!! I NEVER used the restroom when I was in school. (K-12) Held it all day. Bad, I know.

3. I watch soap operas--The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives. Yes, people make fun of me, but I don't care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. When I was little I always told my mom and dad that I wanted to be married so I wouldn't have to sleep by myself. I was scared to be alone in my room---mainly because of the things Kevin would do to scare me. TERD!!!!!!!!!!!

5. I will not eat in a Chinese restaurant. They freak me out. I'll only do take-out. I also will not eat from a buffet--yucky.

6. I ran up a HUGE phone bill when I was five because I kept calling the Easter Bunny.

7. I want to learn how to make soldered charms--I'm doing research on it right now, so maybe by summer I can start.

8. I LOVE scary movies. The scarier, the better.

9. Kris and I sponsor a child through Christian Children's Fund. Her name is Maria and she is six years old. She is absolutely precious.

10. I didn't pump a tank of gas in my car until I was 24. Dad or Kris always did it for me. But, when I was commuting from Conroe to Navasota I had to learn to do it.
